26 flights cancelled today at Dhaka airport

26 flights were cancelled at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (Dhaka airport) today as Middle Eastern airspace closures continue disrupting operations for 9th consecutive day.
Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar and Jordan closed their airspace on February 28 following security concerns in the region. Today’s cancellations affect 8 airlines operating Gulf routes from Dhaka.
Air Arabia operating from Sharjah faced highest disruption with 6 flight cancellations. Qatar Airways cancelled 4 flights while Jazeera Airways from Kuwait grounded 4 services. Emirates Airlines cancelled 4 flights from Dubai.
Kuwait Airways and Gulf Air from Bahrain each cancelled 2 flights. Flydubai and Saudia Airlines operating from Riyadh cancelled 2 flights each.
Crisis has now resulted in 300 total flight cancellations since airspace closures began on February 28. Peak disruption occurred on March 2 when 46 flights were cancelled in single day.
