Hajee Air Travels Limited emerged as winner for highest revenue contribution, followed by Takeoff Travels as first runner-up and Tour Planners Limited as second runner-up during the 'Air China Agent Appreciation Evening 2024-2025'.

Air China recognised its top-performing travel agencies in Bangladesh at an appreciation event held at a capital hotel on Wednesday evening, celebrating partnerships since launching direct Dhaka-Beijing flights in July last year.

An Ming, Air China's Country Manager for Bangladesh, said the direct Beijing-Dhaka service has created an important air bridge between the two capitals. "Your confidence in our brand and services has played a critical role in strengthening Air China's presence in this market," Ming told agency partners.

China's flag carrier currently operates 967 aircraft, including 155 wide-body planes, making it the largest airline fleet in the country. Carrier runs 129 international and regional routes with an average of 254 flights daily.

Dhaka operations include four weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Flights depart Dhaka at 10:10pm, arriving Beijing at 5:10am, enabling connections to South Korea, Japan, North America and European cities.

Jerry Han, Executive Director of Irving Aviation Limited, Air China's General Sales Agent in Bangladesh, acknowledged the challenges of building presence in a new market. "What we have achieved together in just one year has laid a solid foundation for an even brighter future," Han said.

Tamim Hossain, Director at Irving Aviation, highlighted Air China's Star Alliance membership, connecting passengers to 1,200-plus destinations across 195 countries through 25 member airlines. Carrier operates 71 Belt and Road Initiative routes across Asia-Pacific, connecting 30 cities in 21 countries.

Services include through check-in facilities, fast-track access, in-flight Wi-Fi on selected aircraft, free transit accommodation and lounge access at multiple hubs.
