Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agencies (BAIRA) anti-syndicate united front has demanded trial of former Feni-3 MP Lt General (retd) Masud Uddin Chowdhury and associates for monopolizing and destroying Malaysia labour market.
Demand was raised at human chain organized in front of National Press Club on Sunday (March 29) morning.
Speakers alleged Masud Uddin was key player in one-eleven period and led illegal syndicate during Sheikh Hasina government that looted thousands of crores of taka under pretext of sending workers to Malaysia. Money was laundered abroad, causing ruin to countless youths and their families.
MA Salam, former joint secretary of BAIRA, said although syndicate mastermind Lt General Masud Uddin was recently arrested, his associates including Nizam Hazari, Benazir Ahmed, Lotus Kamal and Swapan remain beyond reach. Protesters demanded swift arrest and trial of these kingpins.
Allegations stated Masud Uddin’s leadership enabled massive corruption in Malaysia worker recruitment process. Syndicate operation reportedly involved extortion from job seekers through illegal networks while destroying legitimate labour market channels.
BAIRA anti-syndicate front called for liberating labour market through proper legal prosecution. Organization represents legitimate recruiting agencies affected by syndicate operations that damaged Bangladesh’s international labour market reputation.
Protesters emphasized that thousands of young workers and families suffered financial devastation due to syndicate exploitation. Fraudulent recruitment practices under syndicate control left many workers stranded or cheated out of promised employment.
Demand for justice reflects growing pressure on authorities to dismantle labour trafficking networks that operated during previous government. BAIRA seeks restoration of transparent, legal recruitment processes for Malaysia-bound workers.
