Gallery Cosmos hosted a vibrant day-long watercolour exhibition, marking 50 years of Bangladesh-China diplomatic relations.

Exhibition titled 'Shared Horizons at Garden Gallery Cosmos' took place at Baridhara on Thursday (November 20) , featured 28 watercolour pieces by Bangladeshi artist Mong Mong Sho and renowned Chinese painter Ma Baiqi. Their works depicted powerful landscapes and human narratives from Bangladesh, China, and Nepal.

Professor Emeritus Rafiqun Nabi inaugurated the event. Notable guests attended the ceremony, including BNP standing committee member Abdul Moyeen Khan, BNP leader Altaf Hossain Chowdhury, and former foreign secretary Farooq Sobhan. Li Shaopeng, cultural counsellor of the Chinese embassy, also joined the gathering. Gallery Cosmos chairman Enayetullah Khan moderated the ceremony.

Two featured artists led a special workshop titled Songs of Watercolour as part of the celebration. Eighteen young Bangladeshi artists participated in the session, learning techniques and approaches to watercolour painting from both masters.

Exhibition served as a cultural bridge between the two nations. It highlighted the shared artistic vision and creative exchanges that have grown stronger over five decades of diplomatic friendship. Watercolour as a medium proved particularly effective in capturing the essence of both countries' natural beauty and cultural heritage.

Gallery Cosmos has long been a champion of cross-cultural artistic dialogue. This exhibition reinforced that commitment whilst celebrating a significant milestone in Bangladesh-China relations through the universal language of art.
