Bangladesh has raised the price of jet fuel for the second time in a month, with the energy regulator setting it at 182.71 taka per litre, up 17.06 taka.
The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced the new rate in a notice on Wednesday. It took effect at midnight Wednesday. The previous increase, last month, was 6.13 taka per litre.
For international flights operated by local and foreign airlines, the price has been set at $1.18 per litre, including customs duty and value-added tax.
Earlier, the state-run Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) set jet fuel prices. After the interim government scrapped the provision allowing the executive to set power and gas prices by order, a notification on September 15, 2024, gave BERC the authority to set prices for furnace oil and jet fuel.
BERC held its first public hearing on jet fuel pricing on March 23, 2025. Prices have been adjusted monthly since then.
