Officials of Biman Bangladesh Airlines met with members of the Bangladeshi expatriate community in Japan at the Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo on Tuesday, in a session chaired by Bangladesh's Ambassador to Japan, Md. Daud Ali, according to a press release issued by the embassy.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines Deputy Managing Director (DMD) Syed Moin Uddin Ahmed and the airline's country manager for Tokyo also attended the meeting.

The gathering was addressed by Ambassador Daud Ali, who stated that Biman Bangladesh Airlines is a crucial bridge in the enhancement of bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Japan and in the facilitation of travel for the diaspora. He expressed his gratitude to expatriates who had advocated for the resumption of the Dhaka-Tokyo route through a variety of channels.

Members of the Bangladeshi community in Japan expressed gratitude to the government of Bangladesh for reinstating direct flights between the two countries. They also urged the airline to increase flight frequency on the Dhaka-Tokyo route in view of rising passenger demand.

Responding to the request, Biman DMD Syed Moin Uddin Ahmed said the current government and the airline's board of directors were taking a range of measures to expand flight frequency on international routes and improve passenger service standards.

The event was attended by prominent members of the Bangladeshi expatriate community in Japan.
