Former Fahrenheit member Wu Chun has publicly criticized Cathay Pacific (CX) after his checked baggage was delayed for three days following a disrupted journey from Melbourne Airport (MEL) to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG).
The Brunei-born singer and actor said repeated attempts to obtain updates from the airline’s customer service produced unsatisfactory responses before the carrier issued a public apology.
The travel disruption began after Wu Chun’s Cathay Pacific flight from Melbourne was delayed by nearly three hours, causing him to miss his scheduled connection at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG).
The airline subsequently rerouted him via Manchester Airport (MAN), where he then boarded an onward Air France (AF) flight to Paris. Although Cathay Pacific assured him that his luggage would follow the revised itinerary, the baggage failed to arrive at his final destination.
Cathay Pacific Apologizes to Wu Chun
Wu Chun shared his experience on Weibo on June 25, saying he had waited in Paris for three days without receiving meaningful updates on the whereabouts of his luggage.

According to the actor, he repeatedly confirmed with Cathay Pacific staff before boarding the replacement flight that his checked baggage would be transferred successfully.
He claimed a Chinese-speaking airline representative assisting passengers in Manchester specifically reassured him that ensuring the luggage reached Paris was part of her responsibility.
Based on those assurances, Wu Chun agreed to continue his journey. However, after landing in Paris, he discovered that his baggage had not arrived.
The actor said he made countless calls to customer service over the following three days but received what he described as incomplete and unhelpful responses.
Frustrated by the lack of progress, he posted a video online detailing the incident and appealing for help in locating the staff member who had assisted him during the transfer in Manchester.
Cathay Apologized for the Delay
Following a growing online discussion, Cathay Pacific issued a public statement apologizing for the baggage delay and the inconvenience caused to the passenger, AsiaOne reported.
The airline explained that Wu Chun’s missed connection required a rerouting through Manchester, where his checked baggage was transferred to another airline under standard interline baggage procedures.
According to Cathay Pacific, the luggage reached Manchester but encountered problems during the local transfer process. As a result, it was not loaded onto the onward flight to Paris in time.
The airline added that it had worked with airport authorities and the partner carrier to trace the missing baggage successfully. Cathay Pacific confirmed that it had located the luggage and that it was making arrangements to deliver it to Wu Chun as soon as possible.
As of publication, Wu Chun had not publicly commented on the airline’s latest update regarding the recovery of his baggage.
The Public was Sympathetic to the Traveler
Wu Chun’s complaint generated significant discussion on Chinese social media platforms, where many users expressed sympathy for his experience.
Several commenters questioned how ordinary travelers would be treated if a high-profile celebrity faced difficulties obtaining assistance during a baggage delay.
Others flooded Cathay Pacific’s official Weibo account with requests for updates, asking the airline about the status of Wu Chun’s missing luggage.
Wu Chun, whose real name is Goh Kiat Chun, rose to fame as a member of the Taiwanese Mandopop group Fahrenheit before leaving the band in 2011. He currently lives in Shanghai with his family and frequently travels internationally for entertainment and fashion-related events.
