Embraer's backlog hits record $34.5 billion in the second quarter, rising 16%

Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer said on Friday its firm order backlog hit a record of $34.5 billion at the end of the second quarter, up 16% from a year earlier.
The commercial aviation backlog stood at $15.1 billion in April-June quarter, up 15%, while executive aviation backlog rose 5% to $7.8 billion.
The remaining backlog came from Embraer's defense unit, at $6.1 billion, and its services and support business, at $5.5 billion.
Embraer reported earlier this month the delivery of 65 aircraft in the second quarter, up some 7%.
