Emirates has begun its 15th consecutive year as the Official Airline Partner of the US Open, unveiling a newly designed hospitality suite at Arthur Ashe Stadium as the Grand Slam tournament runs from August 30 to September 13, the Dubai-based carrier said in a statement Sunday.
The airline's new 1,579-square-foot suite is designed to reflect the interiors of its premium cabins, featuring cream leather seating, woodgrain finishes and stadium views alongside dining and beverage service, according to the statement. For the first time, the suite includes a replica of Emirates' A380 onboard bar, modelled on the lounge available to First and Business Class passengers on its double-decker aircraft.
As part of tournament activities, Emirates cabin crew are hosting a "Ball Flight" segment at Arthur Ashe Stadium on August 31, in which autographed tennis balls from winning players are thrown into the stands, with recipients given a chance to win tickets to the men's singles semifinals. The airline is also running a promotional booth at the tournament grounds offering interactive games and prizes, including trips to Dubai.
In the air, Emirates said it is serving US Open-themed food and drink on select flights between Dubai and its United States network from August 23 to September 13. The menu varies by cabin class, ranging from a premium seafood platter and USDA Prime filet mignon in First Class to lobster rolls and New York cheesecake in Business Class, and meatball rigatoni and pecan cheesecake in Premium Economy and Economy. The carrier said it is also offering the tournament's signature Grey Goose Honey Deuce cocktail on select routes.
Passengers on qualifying flights can follow live coverage of the tournament through the Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra channels on Emirates' ice inflight entertainment system, the statement said.
Emirates said the US Open sponsorship sits within a broader sports portfolio that spans football, rugby, sailing, horse racing, cricket, cycling and tennis, including all four Grand Slam tournaments. The airline did not name a specific official as spokesperson in the statement, and no direct quotes were included in the release.
