The Edward M. Kennedy (EMK) Center in Dhaka has announced the Freedom 250 English Skills Program, aimed at strengthening American English pronunciation, conversation skills, test preparation and professional communication.

The programme will provide participants with an opportunity to attend in-person sessions at the EMK Center and interact virtually with experienced US educator Elliot Corona, allowing learners to practise American English and engage directly with an American teacher in real time, according to a Facebook post by the EMK Center.

The sessions are scheduled to be held on August 11, 13, 17, 18, 24 and 25, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the EMK Center in Dhaka.

The programme is being offered as part of Freedom 250, a series of initiatives marking the 250th anniversary of the United States. The broader Freedom 250 initiative has also featured English-language learning and activities focused on American culture and history. 

The EMK Center, located in Gulshan, Dhaka, is part of the global network of American Spaces and provides programmes and resources designed to build connections between the United States and communities in Bangladesh.
