Maldivian High Commissioner calls on civil aviation minister; MoU on tourism cooperation discussed

The High Commissioner of Maldives to Bangladesh, Shiuneen Rasheed, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Afroza Khanom, MP, at her office in the Bangladesh Secretariat in Dhaka today at 12:00 noon.
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M. Rashiduzzaman Millat, MP, was also present at the meeting, a ministry press release said.
During the discussions, both sides emphasized strengthening bilateral ties between Bangladesh and the Maldives. Particular attention was given to tourism sector cooperation, with detailed deliberations held on leveraging Maldivian expertise and collaboration in developing coastal tourism in Cox's Bazar and Kuakata.
Both parties expressed keen interest in signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further consolidate mutual cooperation in the tourism sector. The proposed MoU is expected to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and skills, the development of tourism infrastructure, and the pursuit of joint initiatives between the two countries.
The Maldivian High Commissioner reaffirmed his country's commitment to working closely with Bangladesh and expressed hope that the highest level of cooperation with the current government would continue.
