The Bandarban district administration has imposed a travel ban on all tourist spots in Bandarban until July 10 due to persistent heavy rainfall and the risk of weather-related incidents.

The restriction also prohibits tourists, tour operators, and the general public from visiting waterfalls, mountain trails, riverine areas, remote locations, and other high-risk sites across the district.

The directive was announced on Monday in an emergency public notice signed by Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate M Saniul Ferdous.

According to the notice, continuous heavy rainfall in recent days has created risks to the district's communication network and increased the likelihood of accidents in vulnerable areas.

The decision was made to ensure the safety of tourists and local residents in light of the prevailing weather conditions and potential hazards.

The district administration urged everyone to comply with the restrictions and follow all safety instructions and necessary precautions during the period.
