Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Interior has warned that filming, publishing, or sharing information related to countering missiles and drones and the sites where they land exposes people to legal liability.
The warning was posted on the ministry's social media pages on Tuesday as a graphic in Arabic, English, Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, Filipino, and Bahasa Indonesia. The ministry did not provide details of the penalties in the graphic.
The ministry first issued the warning in late March against photographing, publishing, or circulating information related to the interception of hostile missiles and drones, including details of their impact sites. It said violators would be subject to legal accountability.
At that time, authorities also launched a service on the government's Tawakkalna app for the public to report suspicious aerial sightings.
Other Gulf states have issued similar warnings. Bahrain's Interior Ministry said anyone who films, posts, or reposts videos from the scene of an incident faces legal accountability.
