The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau will hold its first media networking session and B2B roadshow in Dhaka on April 5–6 to boost tourism ties and attract Bangladeshi travellers.
The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau said the initiative marks a significant step in strengthening bilateral tourism cooperation and enhancing destination awareness in Bangladesh.
The Media Networking Session on April 5 is expected to bring together leading media representatives to showcase Sri Lanka’s offerings, including leisure, culture, wellness and adventure tourism.
It aims to deepen media engagement and generate wider destination publicity in the Bangladeshi market.
The following day, a Roadshow (B2B) and Networking Evening will be held with participation of around 150 Bangladeshi travel agents and tour operators, facilitating direct interaction with Sri Lankan tourism stakeholders at Le meridian Dhaka.
The Sri Lankan delegation will be led by SLTPB Chairman Buddhika Hewawasam and Assistant Director (South Asia) Shirani Herath, alongside representatives from 19 tourism companies.
Sri Lanka recorded 59,563 tourist arrivals from Bangladesh in 2025, while 11,079 visitors were recorded until March 31 this year, indicating steady growth potential.
Officials said the initiative aims to strengthen Sri Lanka’s presence in Bangladesh and foster long-term partnerships across the travel and media sectors.
