Thai
Airways today marked four years of operations with Air Galaxy Ltd as its
General Sales Agent (GSA) in Bangladesh, reaffirming its long-standing presence
in the Dhaka market.
The
legacy carrier resumed flights on the Bangkok–Dhaka–Bangkok route on January 6,
2022, following the Covid-19 suspension, appointing Air Galaxy Ltd as its GSA.
Thai
Airways, which has been operating services here for nearly six decades,
currently operates 14 weekly flights between Bangkok and Dhaka.
The
anniversary programme was held at the Thai Airways City Ticket Office at the
Taj Marriott Corporate office at Gulshan.
President
and Chief Executive Officer of Galaxy Bangladesh Group, Ahmed Yusuf Walid,
delivered the keynote address, recalling Thai Airways’ 60-year legacy and its
enduring relationship with Bangladesh.
He
highlighted the airline’s exceptional onboard service standards from 15 to 20
years ago, noting that Thai Airways consistently maintained five-star service
quality well before many of today’s leading carriers gained prominence.
“Many
who flew with Thai Airways back then know what I mean. The onboard experience
was special and rare. Few airlines achieve that level of service,” he said.
Walid
also praised the airport and ground-handling teams for delivering consistent
service despite operational challenges, saying they continued to meet the
airline’s expectations.
He
acknowledged the role of the GSA in managing ticketing, reservations and
customer service in Bangladesh amid various market constraints.
Senior
officials from Thai Airways and Air Galaxy Ltd were present at the event.
