The British High Commission in Dhaka on Sunday cautioned against a surge in fraudulent claims relating to UK visas in Bangladesh, asking prospective travellers to be wary of scams promising guaranteed visas or jobs.
The High Commission said in a public advisory posted on its verified Facebook page that it was aware of increasing attempts to mislead people by offering “guaranteed” UK visas or employment opportunities.
"We know that many people are being misled by false promises of guaranteed visas or jobs," the mission said.
The High Commission encouraged anyone who suspects UK visa fraud to report it confidentially by email to BangladeshVisaFraud@fcdo.gov.uk.
It also urged applicants to verify visa requirements and application procedures through the UK government's official website rather than relying on unauthorized agents or intermediaries.
The advisory is being issued as British authorities continue to work to combat visa fraud and protect legitimate applicants from scams targeting those wishing to travel, work or study in the United Kingdom.
