US-Bangla Airlines, Bangladesh's largest private carrier, is set to launch flights to London and Rome by end of 2026.
On Tuesday, Md Kamrul Islam, General Manager for Public Relations, revealed the expansion plans during a contract signing ceremony at a capital's five-star hotel.
He noted that US-Bangla now operates a larger fleet than national carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
Carrier currently flies to seven Middle Eastern cities including Jeddah, Riyadh, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Muscat and Doha. Asian destinations cover Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Maldives, Kolkata and Chennai. A Dhaka-Madina route will launch soon.
Looking further ahead, US-Bangla aims to start Toronto and New York flights by 2028 if plans proceed smoothly. An ambitious Dhaka-Sydney-Dhaka route, never attempted by any Bangladeshi airline, features in their five-year development plan.
"From the beginning, the public has stood by US-Bangla, and we hope for that support in the future as well," Kamrul Islam said, urging passengers to continue trusting the airline.
US-Bangla began operations on July 17, 2014, with just two aircraft serving the Dhaka-Jashore route. Eleven years later, the fleet has expanded to 25 aircraft, including three Airbus A330s, each accommodating 4,36 passengers.
Growth
marks significant progress for Bangladesh's aviation sector, with private
carriers competing to connect the country to major global destinations.
