US-Bangla Airlines set a world record by hosting over 300 Bangladeshi travel agents at the 'Partner Retreat Maldives-2025' from September 19–21. Held at Sai Lagoon and Hard Rock on Crossroads Island, it's the first time a single airline has organized such a large overseas summit for travel agents.
US-Bangla Airlines has brought together travel agents from across Bangladesh, including the capital Dhaka, the port city Chittagong, the tea-rich region of Sylhet, and the popular tourist destination Cox's Bazar, for a landmark event.
On September 19, two Boeing 737-800 aircraft carrying guests landed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka to Velena International Airport in Male, the capital of the Maldives.
On the second day of the three-day 'Partner Retreat Maldives 2025', a modest event was organized at the Saii Lagoon Convention Hall. At the event, 40 travel agents were awarded based on their performance and US-Bangla Airlines presented certificates in recognition of their work.
US-Bangla Airlines Managing Director Mr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Mamun expressed his gratitude to the guests at the event.
He said, "I am hopeful that the travel partners of Bangladesh will continue to support US-Bangla Airlines in its leadership in global aviation in the future, just as they have stood by US-Bangla Airlines for the past 11 years since the airline began operations on July 17, 2014."
He further said, "Today, US-Bangla operates flights on all domestic routes in the country and 14 international routes in 10 Asian countries. In addition, the airline's fleet consists of a total of 24 aircraft, including two 436-seat Airbus 330-300s. Another Airbus 330-300 aircraft is going to be added to the fleet very soon. And according to the demand of passengers, US-Bangla Airlines is planning to operate flights on the routes of Medina and Dammam after Jeddah and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia."
He also said, "US-Bangla Airlines has almost finalized plans to add 20 new aircraft to its fleet to further secure international routes very soon. To increase its capabilities, US-Bangla Airlines is continuing the process of training 30 pilots and 30 engineers every year from among the country's talented people, with its own funding, before increasing its aircraft."
Among the awardees, Haji Air Travels Limited took first place, Share Trip Limited took second place, and Gozayan Limited took third place. All participating travel partners expressed their commitment to strengthen Bangladesh's aviation and tourism industry by staying with US-Bangla in the future as in the past.
