Warning: Govt urges Malaysia-bound workers not to make advance payments

The Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment has issued an urgent advisory for aspiring workers seeking jobs in Malaysia and the recruiting agencies involved in the process.

In the notice, the ministry urged all concerned not to communicate with or make any financial transactions with any individual or organisation regarding employment in Malaysia until it officially announces the reopening of the worker recruitment process.

The ministry also instructed workers to refrain from undergoing medical tests or making any payments related to the recruitment process before it is formally launched.

For recruiting agencies, the ministry said no agency will be allowed to sign any agreement with Malaysia-bound workers until the government issues an official notification.

Recruiting agencies have also been strictly instructed not to collect passports, arrange medical tests, or receive any form of payment from prospective workers before the government's formal approval.

For complaints or information related to employment in Malaysia, the ministry requested workers to contact the Probashi Call Centre at 16135(from Bangladesh) or +8809610102030(from abroad).

They may also directly contact the ministry's Malaysia focal point officer, Md Hedayetul Islam Mondol, by telephone at +02-41030241, via email at dsemployment1@probashi.gov.bd , or on mobile at +8801716048115.
