Malaysian authorities have agreed to recruit 10,000 Bangladeshi workers completely free of cost, following a special request from the Bangladesh government, the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Foreign Employment said in a press release on Friday.

The workers will be sent to Malaysia without any migration costs, including airfare, according to the ministry.

The first batch of workers will be deployed on special chartered flights through the government-run Bangladesh Overseas Employment and Services Limited (BOESL), marking the resumption of sending Bangladeshi workers to the Malaysian labour market.

The ministry described the initiative as a major milestone for Bangladeshi workers in the Malaysian labour market.

BOESL is the sole state-owned company under the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Foreign Employment, responsible for exporting Bangladeshi manpower abroad. Through low-cost, rational, and, in some cases, zero-migration-cost recruitment, the organisation plays a leading role in implementing the government's various policies and objectives while ensuring safe migration.
