Afroza, Millat inspect Hajj preparations ahead of inaugural flight

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroz Khanam and State Minister Md Rashiduzzaman Millat tonight inspected Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) to review preparedness for Hajj flights, stressing smooth, safe and efficient services for pilgrims.
The minister and the state minister visited the airport around 8:30 pm to assess overall preparations ahead of the tomorrowâs inauguration of Hajj flights 2026.
The inaugural Hajj flight is scheduled to depart at 12:20 am on Friday night, carrying 419 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
During the visit, officials concerned presented detailed briefings on flight operations and passenger service arrangements for Hajj pilgrims.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said all stakeholders must act with sincerity and responsibility to meet the needs of pilgrims.
She laid special emphasis on ensuring proper management and cleanliness at the Hajj camp.
The state minister said ensuring a smooth, safe and orderly Hajj journey is a sacred responsibility, directing officials to maintain the highest level of vigilance and professionalism in pilgrim management.
Secretary of the ministry Fahmida Akhtar, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh Air Vice Marshal Mostafa Mahmud Siddique, and other senior officials were present.
