Air Arabia to launch Frankfurt service from Sharjah, Expanding Germany network

Air Arabia, the Middle East and North Africa's first and largest budget carrier, announced the launch of a new daily non-stop service between Sharjah and Frankfurt, marking the airline's second destination in Germany after Munich, the carrier said in a statement.

The new service will begin on December 15, 2026, connecting Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) and Frankfurt Airport (FRA), further expanding Air Arabia's European network and offering travellers access to one of Germany's leading commercial, financial, and tourism hubs.

The route will be operated using Air Arabia's Airbus A320neo aircraft, which the airline said offers a modern cabin experience along with improved operational efficiency and fuel performance.

Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, said the new route reflected the growing significance of the German market to the airline.

"Frankfurt marks another important milestone in Air Arabia's continued expansion across Europe and further enhances connectivity between the United Arab Emirates and Germany," Al Ali said. "As our second destination in Germany, the new route reflects the growing importance of the German market within our network and the strong demand we continue to see for travel between our two countries."

He added that the daily service would provide customers with "greater choice, convenience, and affordable connectivity, while supporting tourism, trade, and economic ties" between the UAE and Germany.

Fraport Chief Operating Officer Dietmar Focke welcomed the new connection, saying it would strengthen ties between the Frankfurt Rhine-Main region and the UAE.

"By offering daily flights between Frankfurt and Sharjah, Air Arabia is creating an important new connection between the Frankfurt Rhine-Main region and the United Arab Emirates," Focke said. "The new destination ideally complements Frankfurt Airport's existing network of services to the Gulf region."

He added that the route would give passengers "additional travel opportunities" and access to Air Arabia's wider network, saying Fraport looked forward to "a successful partnership" with the airline.

Air Arabia currently connects Sharjah to several European destinations, including Milan Bergamo, Munich, Vienna, Athens, Prague, Krakow, Warsaw Chopin, London Gatwick, and Rome. The airline said the new Frankfurt service would strengthen these connections, offering German travelers direct access to Sharjah and the wider UAE, along with onward connectivity across its network.

Air Arabia operates a fleet consisting entirely of Airbus A320 and A321 family aircraft. The airline also offers "SkyTime," a complimentary inflight streaming service, "SkyCafe," its onboard food and beverage menu, and "AirRewards," its loyalty programme.

Bookings for the Sharjah-Frankfurt route are available through Air Arabia's website, its call centre, or travel agencies.
