The district administration has suspended the waterway on the Thanchi Sadar-Tindumukh route in Bandarban until July 30, 2026, citing adverse weather conditions and potential safety risks.
The decision was announced in an emergency public notice issued on Saturday and signed by S.M Hasan, additional deputy commissioner (Development and Human Resource Management) of Bandarban.
According to the notice, the suspension has been imposed to ensure the safety of tourists and local residents amid unfavorable weather and the heightened risk of accidents. Boat operations between Thanchi Sadar and Tindumukh, a popular tourist route in the hill district, will remain closed through Thursday, July 30, it added.
The district administration has urged both tourists and local residents to comply with the directive and take necessary precautions until weather conditions improve.
