Bangladesh, Canada collaborate to promote eco-tourism: CHT Affairs Minister

Minister of Chattogram Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Dipen Dewan stated on Tuesday that there are substantial opportunities for Bangladesh and Canada to collaborate in order to advance eco-tourism in Bangladesh.
He also stated that the two countries could collaborate on sustainable development and the mitigation of climate change risks in the CHT region during a courtesy visit to his ministry office in the Bangladesh Secretariat by a four-member delegation led by Canadian High Commissioner Ajit Singh.
Dewan, during the meeting, stated that the CHT is a place where individuals of all ethnicities reside in harmony and equality. He further said that the government is working tirelessly to guarantee the delivery of all civic services to the most remote areas of the region.
Ajit Singh, the Canadian High Commissioner, praised Bangladesh's progress in social and economic areas and promised to keep supporting the development of the hill tracts.
Among others, Marcus Davis, the Political Counselor of the Canadian High Commission in Dhaka, Joseph McIntosh, the First Secretary, Farzana Sultana, the Development Advisor, and high-ranking officials from the CHT Ministry were at the meeting.
