Fifty-four Bangladeshi paratroopers set a world record by parachuting together while carrying national flags to mark the 54th anniversary of the countryâs Victory Day, showcasing unity, pride and military excellence.
The record-setting parachute jump was organised by the Armed Forces on Tuesday at the parade ground adjacent to the old Tejgaon Airport in the capital, marking the highest number of paratroopers parachuting simultaneously while holding national flags.
Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus attended the event as the chief guest and witnessed the historic moment. Members of the advisory council, chiefs of the armed forces, political leaders, diplomats from various countries, and people from different walks of life were also present.
The event featured the participation of 54 paratroopers of âTeam Bangladeshâ, whose coordinated jump officially secured a place in the world record books.
As part of the programme, a combined flypast involving the Army, Navy and Air Force was held. Various aircraft and helicopters of the Bangladesh Air Force performed aerial manoeuvres, captivating the audience.
The celebration added grandeur and excitement to the Victory Day observance, highlighting the professionalism and capability of the armed forces.
From early Tuesday morning, large crowds gathered at the venue to witness the spectacular display. Long queues were seen at the main entrance of the old airport area as spectators entered the venue following security checks to enjoy the air show.
