Bangladesh set to host biggest tourism fair this week

The upcoming Bangladesh Travel & Tourism Fair (BTTF) 2025, set to take place from October 30 to November 1 at the Bangladesh–China Friendship Conference Centre (BCFCC) in Dhaka, promises to be the country’s largest tourism event to date, with over 250 exhibitors from more than 20 countries participating in the three-day showcase.

Organised by the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB), the 13th edition of BTTF will feature approximately 220 stalls spread across four pavilions, and aims to host some 2,000 business delegates and over 50,000 visitors.

“The fair this year will introduce a dedicated medical-tourism zone,” TOAB President Mohammed Rafiuzzaman told media earlier in Dhaka adding that national tourism organisations from Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka have already confirmed their participation, and discussions are underway with other international players.

Beyond exhibition space, BTTF2025 will feature a robust agenda of business-to-business (B2B) sessions, panel seminars, country presentations, and cultural programmes.

In addition, a raffle draw is planned to engage the general public and visitors. “This edition will be larger, more vibrant and more dynamic than ever,” said TOAB Director (Trade & Fair) Md. Taslim Amin Shobhon, noting the launch of a mobile app for visitor navigation and improved online registration.

Sustainability and digital integration are key themes: the organisers have pledged a plastic-free event, tree-planting drives across all eight divisions of Bangladesh, and eco-tourism campaigns to highlight responsible travel.

A photography, videography and storytelling competition will also feature, with winning entries displayed at the venue. With tourism positioned as a strategic growth sector, BTTF2025 seeks to amplify Bangladesh’s attractiveness to global travellers and tourism investors.

The event is expected to catalyse new partnerships among airlines, hotels, resorts, cruise liners and outbound tour-operators from Malaysia, the Maldives, China, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey.

As Bangladesh broadens its footprint on the international tourism stage, this fair provides a timely platform for industry stakeholders to explore emerging opportunities and reposition the country among the world’s rising tourist destinations.
