Bangladesh showcases culture and cuisine at Asian Festival 2026 in Geneva

The Permanent Mission of Bangladesh in Geneva took part in the "2026 Asian Festival: Wonders of Asia" at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) on Tuesday, presenting the country's cultural heritage and cuisine to international visitors.

The event, inaugurated by the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, brought together 25 countries in a cultural diplomacy showcase of Asian traditions and culinary arts, according to a statement from the Bangladesh mission.

The Bangladesh pavilion featured the country's traditional arts and historical legacy alongside authentic Bangladeshi dishes, the mission said, describing the space as drawing steady visitor interest throughout the festival.

The mission said the pavilion's presentation combined cultural heritage with what it called "culinary diplomacy," aimed at introducing attendees to Bangladeshi flavours. It added that participation in such events strengthens Bangladesh's international presence, fosters cross-cultural understanding, and highlights the country's identity on the global stage.

The mission thanked visitors to the pavilion and the organisers of the Asian Festival for the opportunity to present Bangladeshi tradition and cuisine at the event.
