The Boundless Buddies Brigade (BBB) has announced the launch of its yearly athletic event, the "Hit and Jigal Badminton Tournament 2026," which aims to use sports to promote a drug-free and healthy society.

According to the organization, the competition aims to prevent drug use among youth and promote a healthy, disciplined lifestyle through exercise.

Founded in 2015, BBB has been working for more than a decade to keep youths away from drugs by engaging them in social and sports-based programmes.

The tournament will be held from January 9 to January 10, 2026, at the capital's Bashundhara residential area. Players from different categories, including emerging talents and badminton enthusiasts, are expected to participate.

BBB founder and president Gazi Sharafuddin Hasan Khan Iman said sports can play a crucial role in social transformation.

“Through sports, it is possible to pull a young person away from the direct influence of drugs and guide them towards a disciplined life. Since its inception, BBB has been spreading awareness through the concept of ‘Hit and Jigal’ engagement. This tournament is not just about winning or losing; it is a collective effort to build a healthy society,” he said.

BBB is organising the event with support from several partners, including Airpedia Holidays, InnoGlobe, Mitways, Thai Express, Saffron Dine, JUST1STORE, Tamanna Pharmacy, Travelchamp, Trip Lover, Firsttrip, and TAKETRIP, which are providing logistical and sponsorship support.

Organisers expressed hope that such initiatives would strengthen the anti-drug movement and inspire young people to embrace sports and a healthier way of life.
