Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanom said that
the benefits of projects implemented with public funds must genuinely return to
the people, and all concerned must remain vigilant and responsible in ensuring
this.
She made the remarks today during a meeting held at the
conference room of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism to review the
implementation progress of the RADP for April of the 2025â26 fiscal year.
According to a press release, the minister said that, in
line with the Prime Ministerâs directives, the remaining work of ongoing
projects must be completed as quickly as possible. Before taking up any new
projects in the aviation and tourism sectors in the future, their financial feasibility
must be properly assessed.
She further stated that it is extremely important to have a
well-planned action strategy before constructing any infrastructure or
facilities. At the same time, officials concerned must play a more careful and
responsible role in monitoring the progress of contractorsâ work.
The minister emphasised again that the benefits of projects
financed with public money should truly reach the public. Ensuring transparency
and accountability in project implementation is essential, she said, and
instructed all levels to maintain strict oversight in this regard.
The meeting, chaired by Ministry Secretary Fahmida Akhter,
was attended by Civil Aviation Authority Chairman (CAAB) Air Vice Marshal
Mostafa Mahmud Siddique, along with senior officials from the ministry and the CAAB,
as well as directors of various ongoing projects.
