Boeing and the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) announced Tuesday a collaboration to introduce Boeing's Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) Learning Library across flight training organisations in Thailand, marking what the companies described as the first time a regulator has deployed the system across an entire national training ecosystem.

The programme will give Thai flight schools access to Boeing's CBTA learning content, which the company says is designed to strengthen pilot competencies, improve training effectiveness and better prepare cadets for airline operations. The rollout will be offered to participating flight schools across the country as part of a push toward a more standardised, competency-focused approach to pilot development.

Boeing said the collaboration comes as Southeast Asia faces demand for an estimated 66,000 new pilots over the next 20 years, citing its commercial market outlook.

Chris Broom, vice president of Boeing Commercial Training Solutions, said the company was "proud to work with CAAT to support Thailand's aviation training ecosystem." He added: "Together, we are helping equip future pilots with the knowledge and competencies needed to safely and efficiently operate in today's increasingly complex aviation environment."

Iratrachar Amornpipat, personnel licensing department manager at CAAT, said the partnership was "an important step in advancing pilot training standards in Thailand." She said the collaboration would help "strengthen the quality of pilot training and support the continued growth of Thailand's aviation industry."

Boeing has operated in Thailand for more than nine decades, with a presence that includes offices in Bangkok and support for STEM education and disability programmes in the country, according to the company.
