Bombardier has announced that its annual Safety Standdown seminar on aviation safety will return to Wichita, Kansas, on November 10-12, marking the 30th edition of the free industry event, according to a press release from the company.

The three-day seminar, to be held both in person and online, will be open to aviation professionals from any manufacturer, regardless of the aircraft type they operate. This year's theme, "Evolution Fueled by Legacy," centres on applying lessons from past experience to strengthen safety practices going forward.

Chris Milligan, Bombardier's Vice President of Pre-owned Aircraft Services and Flight Operations, said the seminar has given industry professionals "invaluable opportunities to glean new perspectives on safety" over the past three decades. He added that the company was proud to serve as a steward for aviation safety by bringing the conference back to Wichita.

The seminar will be headlined by Dr. Tony Kern, CEO of Convergent Performance, who will deliver a keynote linking historical combat decision-making theory to modern approaches to risk.

Other sessions will feature Ivan Pupulidy of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, retired U.S. Marine Corps Major Jermaine Cadogan, and Tim Wade, Flexjet's Corporate Director of Environmental, Health & Safety.

Safety Standdown originated with a group of Learjet demonstration pilots aiming to make Bombardier's Wichita-based flight demonstration team the safest in the industry. Since its founding, the release said, more than 10,000 aviation professionals have taken part in the seminar either in person or via webcast. Registration for the 2026 edition is now open.

Bombardier is a Canadian manufacturer of business jets, with a customer fleet of more than 5,200 aircraft supported by a global service network that includes 10 service centres across six countries.

The company manufactures its aircraft at aerostructure, assembly, and completion facilities in Canada, the United States, and Mexico and has said it is working to cover all of its flight operations with a sustainable aviation fuel blend under a book-and-claim system.
