Canada HC warns Bangladeshis against visa scams, urges use of official IRCC website

The High Commission of Canada in Dhaka on Tuesday warned prospective visa applicants in Bangladesh to apply for Canadian visas only through the official Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website and to remain cautious of unauthorized third-party services that may be fraudulent.

In a notice posted on its official Facebook page, the mission said the IRCC website is the only official source for information and applications related to Canada’s immigration programs and services.

“Apply for your Canadian visa safely online through the IRCC website—the only official source of information about Canada’s immigration programs and services,” the High Commission said.

It cautioned applicants not to rely on unauthorized agents or third-party services that may attempt to scam people or provide incorrect information about visa procedures.

The High Commission also provided guidance on how to safeguard oneself from scams and what to do in the event of a fraud: https://www.canada.ca/.../imm.../services/protect-fraud.html
