Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan, in collaboration with BRAC Bank TARA, will host “The Motherhood Movement” on Sunday to mark Mother’s Day with what organisers described as a first-of-its-kind celebration in the capital.

The event aims to move beyond traditional Mother’s Day observances such as flowers and brunches to recognise modern, resilient and inspiring mothers, organisers said.

At the centre of the celebration will be the “Mother’s Market”, a curated showcase featuring 30 mother-led businesses offering handcrafted, self-made and passion-driven products, including hand-painted sarees, artisanal jewellery, homemade preserves and handcrafted candles.

Held under the theme “Celebrating Passion, Power & Possibility”, the event seeks to honour mothers who are balancing family responsibilities while building businesses, pursuing ambitions and redefining leadership.

Organisers said the initiative would provide a platform for stories of resilience, creativity and entrepreneurship, allowing visitors to engage with and support women-led ventures.

The programme will also feature a leadership session titled “Passion, Power & Possibility”, bringing together industry leaders and mothers for a panel discussion on balancing business and motherhood.

The celebration will conclude with the Inspiring Mothers Awards, recognising mother entrepreneurs and changemakers for their contributions to society through leadership, resilience and innovation.

The Mother’s Market will take place from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm at the ballroom on the 25th floor of Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan, featuring women-led brands showcasing craftsmanship, fashion, artisanal foods and other products.

Organisers said the day-long event is intended to foster discovery, connection and community while reflecting the commitment of the hospitality group to celebrating motherhood and women’s empowerment.
