Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan by IHG has partnered with Gari Bazar BD to organise the Run for Charity: Meaningful Marathon 2026, a community initiative aimed at promoting health and wellbeing while raising funds for vulnerable children.

Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan and Gari Bazar BD signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) as part of IHG’s Giving for Good Month, according to a press release issued on Tuesday, 8 September 2026.

The 5-kilometre community run will be held on Friday, September 25, with around 200 runners expected to participate. Participants will assemble at 5:00 am, while the run will begin at 5:30 am from Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan.

Each participant will pay a registration fee of Tk 1,500, with the full proceeds to be donated to Odommo Bangladesh Foundation (Mojar School) to support selected projects for vulnerable children.

With 200 expected participants, the event could generate Tk 300,000 in direct charitable contributions, the release said.

Following the run, a medal ceremony will be held at 6:30 am, followed by breakfast at 7:00 am at the Ballroom on the 25th floor of Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan.

The partnership aims to encourage an active lifestyle and greater community participation while creating a social impact through collective fundraising.

Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan said the initiative reflects its commitment to bringing people together for positive change as part of IHG’s Giving for Good Month.
