Embraer’s order backlog hits record US$35.7 billion

Brazilian aircraft maker Embraer said its order backlog reached a record US$35.7 billion at the end of the third quarter of 2026, up 3 percent from the previous quarter’s all-time high and 14 percent from a year earlier.

The company, which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and Brazil’s B3 exchange, announced the figures in a statement on its website.

Commercial Aviation had a backlog of US$15.8 billion, up 5 percent on the quarter and 4 percent on the year. Embraer received 36 firm orders and 30 purchase rights or options for its E2 family of jets in the quarter, bringing firm E2 orders to 72 so far this year.

Abra Group, the parent of Avianca and Gol, placed a firm order for 20 E195-E2 aircraft, with 10 options and 15 purchase rights that could take the total to 45. Spanish regional airline Binter ordered five more E195-E2s and secured four additional purchase rights. Luxair of Luxembourg converted three purchase rights for E190-E2s into firm orders, taking its total order book to nine aircraft. Japan’s ANA Holdings ordered eight more E190-E2s, raising its firm orders to 23.

Executive Aviation posted a record backlog of US$8.2 billion, up 5 percent on the quarter and 12 percent on the year. Embraer launched the Phenom 300EV light jet in the quarter. The company said it is the first light jet certified with Garmin’s Emergency Autoland system, which can land the aircraft automatically in an emergency. It has been certified by the aviation authorities of Brazil, the United States, and Europe. Embraer also delivered the first Praetor 600E business jet to US operator Flexjet.

Defense & Security had a backlog of US$6.1 billion, marginally higher in the quarter and up 56 percent in the year. The main contract in the period was a deal with the Colombian Aerospace Force for two KC-390 Millennium military transport aircraft. Embraer said it now has 43 firm orders for the KC-390 and 25 for the A-29 Super Tucano light attack aircraft.

Services & Support also set a record at US$5.6 billion, up 2 percent on the quarter and 14 percent on the year. New long-term service agreements covered Portugalia’s 19 E190 aircraft and Alliance Airlines’ 40 E190s. Embraer also extended its pool programme for Western Air’s nine ERJ 145 jets and signed 69 Executive Care contracts worth about US$53 million.

Embraer reported book-to-bill ratios over the past 12 months of 1.2 for Commercial Aviation, 1.4 for Executive Aviation, 2.9 for Defense & Security and 1.3 for Services & Support.

Founded in 1969, Embraer has delivered more than 9,000 aircraft. The company said it is a leading maker of commercial jets of up to 150 seats.
