Emirates launches seasonal strawberry menu on UK flights

Emirates said Monday it is bringing back its seasonal strawberry-themed menu on flights between Dubai and the United Kingdom from July 13 to July 31, extending its summer culinary programme following the airline's Wimbledon-inspired onboard dining offering.

In a press release, the Dubai-based carrier said the limited-time menu celebrates the British strawberry season with a range of desserts available across all cabin classes on flights to and from the United Kingdom.

Passengers travelling from Dubai to the UK will be served strawberry-inspired desserts tailored to their cabin class, including honey cake with strawberry compote and clotted cream in First Class, strawberry tart with pistachio sauce in Business and Premium Economy, and cream cheese mousse with strawberry compote and hazelnut streusel in Economy Class.

On return flights from the UK to Dubai, First Class customers will be offered the traditional British dessert Eton Mess, while Business Class passengers will receive white chocolate cheesecake with strawberry and basil confit. Premium Economy travellers will be served strawberry panna cotta, and Economy Class passengers will be offered strawberry cheesecake.

The airline said it is using the Monterrey strawberry variety for the seasonal menu, sourcing more than 10 kilograms of strawberries each day from Bustanica, the indoor vertical farming company co-owned by Emirates. According to the airline, the strawberries are harvested and served onboard within 12 hours to maintain freshness.

Seasonal strawberry dishes will also be available in the Emirates A380 Onboard Lounge, where passengers can choose from fresh strawberries and cream, strawberry lemon cake, and a selection of strawberry-based mocktails and cocktails.

Emirates said the initiative forms part of its broader strategy of incorporating regional cuisine and seasonal ingredients into its onboard menus throughout the year, with culinary offerings designed to reflect destinations served by the airline.

The carrier also highlighted the role of Emirates SkyCargo in supporting British agricultural exports. Since March 2026, the cargo division has transported more than 230 tonnes of British strawberries—equivalent to around 12 million berries—from the United Kingdom to the United Arab Emirates through its freighter and passenger network.

Emirates said it works with UK strawberry producers, including Blush from the UK and Kent-based Hugh Lowe Farms, to source fruit for its onboard catering.

The seasonal menu is expected to enhance the inflight experience for passengers travelling on UK routes while highlighting the airline's continued investment in destination-inspired catering and its cargo operations supporting the international movement of perishable goods.
