Emirates will introduce its new A350 aircraft on flights EK344/345 between Dubai and Kuala Lumpur from 1 September, the airline announced Wednesday, expanding its Premium Economy offering in the Malaysian capital.

The A350 will join Emirates' retrofitted Boeing 777, which currently operates the airline's EK346/347 service, bringing the total number of daily Premium Economy seats available on the Dubai–Kuala Lumpur route to 52, according to the airline.

Saeed Mubarak, Emirates' Country Manager in Malaysia, said this year marks 30 years since Emirates launched services to Kuala Lumpur, and the airline has continued to invest in its products throughout that period. He added that following the successful introduction of the retrofitted Boeing 777 with Premium Economy, Emirates was "delighted" to bring the new-generation A350 to the route. With the A350 joining the airline's existing A380 operations, he said, customers travelling from Malaysia would now have access to all three of Emirates' flagship aircraft types.

Emirates' A350 is configured with 32 lie-flat Business Class seats in a 1-2-1 layout, 28 Premium Economy seats, and 238 Economy Class seats, the airline said, noting the configuration may change due to operational adjustments.

The aircraft's Business Class cabin features lie-flat seats with wireless charging, while premium cabins are fitted with electronic window blinds and digital inflight menus accessible via the airline's ice entertainment screens. The latest generation of the ice system includes 4K and 4K HDR touchscreen displays, and the aircraft offers high-speed Wi-Fi through ViaSat's Global Xpress satellite network.

Emirates said the deployment would give travellers departing Kuala Lumpur a consistent onboard product on connections to more than 20 destinations across its network via Dubai, including cities such as Istanbul, Lyon and Frankfurt.
