Emirates has introduced a set of new measures aimed at giving customers greater flexibility, choice, and peace of mind when booking and managing their travel, the airline said in a statement Tuesday.

The changes range from unlimited free date changes on flights to Dubai to an industry-first comprehensive travel insurance product, covering the entire journey from booking through to arrival at the destination, according to Emirates.

Unlimited free date changes to Dubai

Effective from August 10, 2026, customers travelling to Dubai can change their travel dates as many times as needed at no charge, across all fare types. The unlimited free changes apply to Saver through Flex fares in Economy Class and to Special, Saver, and Flex fares in Business Class. Economy Flex Plus, Premium Economy, Business Flex Plus, and First Class fares remain fully flexible as before.

Lower refund fees

The airline has also cut refund fees on flights to Dubai substantially, to $50 on Saver fares and $25 on Flex fares in Economy Class. In Business Class, refund fees will be $50 on Special and Saver fares and $25 on Flex fares. Combined with the unlimited free date changes, Emirates said the measure allows customers to adjust or cancel bookings with minimal penalty.

One free date change network-wide

Passengers travelling anywhere on the Emirates network, including journeys connecting through Dubai, will receive one free date change on tickets booked from April 2, 2026. Customers can also hold a fare for 24 hours at no charge while finalising travel plans.

Comprehensive Travel Cover

Emirates described its Comprehensive Travel Cover as an industry-first insurance product. It includes conflict cover with reimbursement of medical expenses up to $25,000 and a free trip extension of up to 30 days and is not restricted by government travel advisories. The policy also covers trip cancellation and baggage delay and loss, along with unlimited worldwide medical expenses and emergency evacuation.

The cover is available at the time of booking on emirates.com or can be added to an existing booking through Manage Booking across 27 countries.

The airline said that where flights are disrupted, it will arrange accommodation directly for affected customers. Where onward connections on other airlines are affected or Emirates services are unavailable—including in cases of airspace disruption—customers will be rebooked to their destination at no additional cost.

More benefits for Skywards members

Emirates Skywards members will also see added flexibility until August 31, 2026, including a 20 percent reduction in the Tier Miles required to reach Silver, Gold and Platinum status, a 20 percent bonus on Tier Miles earned on Emirates and flydubai flights, and an improved Cash+Miles rate of 2,000 Miles for $30, instead of the usual $15, when used toward flights, excess baggage, lounge access or seat selection on Emirates and flydubai.

Emirates said fare differences may apply to some of the changes, and that no-show fees remain unchanged.
