Etihad, Cambodia sign $120,000 tourism marketing deal

Etihad Airways has signed a joint marketing agreement with the Cambodia Tourism Board to promote Cambodia as a holiday destination, the airline said on Wednesday. The agreement was signed during the World Travel Market in London.

The memorandum of understanding sets up a framework for joint marketing, destination promotion, and working with the travel trade, Etihad said. The two sides plan to highlight Cambodia’s cultural heritage and visitor experiences.

Kim Minea, CEO of the Cambodia Tourism Board, said the two partners will run a 120,000 US dollar marketing campaign, with each investing 60,000 dollars. The campaign will focus on the United Kingdom, Germany, and Italy. He said the aim is to “give more travellers a reason to choose Cambodia and stay longer”, and that Cambodia offers more than Angkor Wat, with the streets and food of Phnom Penh and the beaches and islands of the southern coast.

Aysha Al Kaabi, Etihad’s Vice President for Commercial Enablement and Engagement, said Etihad has built its presence in Cambodia since starting flights to Phnom Penh last year. She said the partnership with the tourism board is the next step, adding to the airline’s connectivity by giving travellers more reasons to visit.

Etihad began direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Phnom Penh on October 3, 2025. According to the airline, an Airbus A321LR flies the route, which has two First Suites, 14 business seats, and 144 economy seats. In April 2026, Etihad started a codeshare partnership with Air Cambodia, which lets passengers book travel to Siem Reap via Phnom Penh on a single ticket, with baggage checked through to the final destination, the airline said.
