Etihad Airways and Taiwan’s Starlux Airlines have expanded their loyalty partnership, allowing members of both frequent flyer programmes to earn and redeem miles on either carrier, Etihad said in a press release.
The new arrangement covers Etihad Guest, Etihad’s loyalty programme, and COSMILE, Starlux’s equivalent. According to Etihad, members can redeem miles for award tickets on flights operated by the partner airline, and earn miles on eligible flights. They can also request retroactive mileage credit in line with each programme’s terms and conditions.
The airlines said award tickets are available in First, Business and Economy cabins.
The expansion builds on an earlier arrangement launched in August, under which Etihad Guest members could redeem miles on Business and Economy flights across the Starlux network. Etihad said the new benefits will apply from October 28.
“Giving members the opportunity to now earn as well as redeem miles on both airlines further enhances the partnership and value for members,” said Mark Potter, managing director of Etihad Guest.
He said an Etihad Guest member flying with Starlux now earns miles on that trip and can spend them on a later journey with Etihad, while COSMILE members have the same benefit in reverse.
Starlux chief executive Glenn Chai said the move marked “an important milestone” in the carriers’ collaboration. He said COSMILE members could use their miles with greater flexibility and extend their journeys to more than 120 destinations worldwide through Etihad’s Abu Dhabi hub.
The loyalty tie-up follows a codeshare agreement the two airlines signed in June 2025, and the launch of Etihad’s Abu Dhabi-Taipei service in September 2025, operated with a Boeing 787-9. Etihad said the agreements position Abu Dhabi as a gateway between Starlux’s Asia-Pacific network and Etihad’s routes across Europe, and Taipei as a key connecting point for Etihad customers travelling across Asia.
