First airplane restaurant opens for dining experience

Imagine enjoying your favourite meal whilst sitting inside a real airplane cockpit, complete with air hostesses serving you and a thrilling 3D flight simulation playing around you.

This isn't a dream anymore, it's becoming reality at a brand-new restaurant opening next year.

The unique dining venue promises an authentic flight experience that food lovers and aviation enthusiasts have been craving. Guests will be served by staff dressed as air hostesses and pilots, creating an atmosphere that makes diners feel like they're actually aboard an aircraft.

The restaurant will offer a diverse menu featuring Indian, Continental, and Chinese cuisines. But the real highlight is the 3D flight simulation show that recreates the sensation of flying, giving visitors a taste of what it's like to soar through the skies without leaving their seats.

According to Sittish Sinha, head of the private tourism company developing the project, preparations have been underway since last year.

"Everyone is very excited about this airplane restaurant. We're often asked when it will open," Sinha said. He explained that most interior work has been completed, though some exterior tasks remain pending, mainly depending on the electricity department.

"Because of that, there's been a slight delay. We hope that by 2026, people will finally be able to enjoy the unique experience of dining inside a plane," he added.

The restaurant is located near Belkuri Toll Plaza on National Highway 32 in Purulia, West Bengal, about 15 kilometres from Purulia town. For Bangladeshi tourists, this marks an exciting new destination just across the border in India's Jangalmahal region.
