Dubai's low-cost carrier flydubai has reinstated daily direct flights to Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram (CGP), effective Tuesday, the airline announced in an official press release.
The service departs from Terminal 2 at Dubai International Airport (DXB) and brings the carrier's active Bangladeshi destinations to two, joining the existing DubaiâDhaka route. The relaunch caters to the substantial expatriate Bangladeshi community in the Gulf region, as well as commercial and leisure travellers.
Flights are integrated into the airline's codeshare arrangement with Emirates, a partnership that allows travellers to book onward connections under a single ticket with through-checked baggageâa feature likely to benefit passengers connecting beyond Dubai to points across Europe, the Americas, and other long-haul markets.
Return Economy Class fares are priced from AED 2,200 when departing Dubai and from USD 650 for passengers originating in Chattogramâpositioning the carrier competitively against existing full-service operators on the route.
Chattogram, home to Bangladesh's principal seaport and a major industrial hub, has historically generated strong demand for Gulf air connections owing to large labour migration flows.
Founded in June 2009, flydubai operates a fleet of 97 aircraft across a network exceeding 140 destinations. The carrier has positioned itself as a key enabler of connectivity between the Gulf and underserved or emerging markets across South Asia, Eastern Europe, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
