Dubai-based carrier flydubai has signed new interline agreements with Air India and Uzbekistan Airways, opening up more than 80 additional destinations across Asia, Australia and Europe for its passengers, the airline said in a statement on Wednesday.

The agreements will give flydubai passengers seamless access to destinations across its two new partners' networks, while Air India and Uzbekistan Airways customers will gain convenient connections through Dubai to destinations on flydubai's network, with single-ticket itineraries and through-checked baggage, the statement said.

With the new additions, flydubai's interline network now stands at 46 partner airlines, and its combined network reach — including codeshare partnerships — extends to more than 300 destinations worldwide, the airline said.

flydubai Chief Executive Officer Ghaith Al Ghaith said the partnerships mark a significant step in the airline's network expansion strategy, offering passengers greater choice as they connect through Dubai. He said Air India brings South Asian, Southeast Asian and Australian markets within reach, while Uzbekistan Airways adds a corridor through Central Asia, Russia and into Europe.

Through the Air India partnership, flydubai customers will be able to access Indian cities including Bengaluru, Chennai, Chandigarh, Goa, Jaipur, Pune and Varanasi, as well as international destinations such as Bali, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Mauritius, Melbourne, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo, according to the statement.

Air India Chief Commercial Officer Nipun Aggarwal said the airline is steadily expanding its partnerships with leading global carriers to offer customers broader network access and seamless connectivity. He said the tie-up with flydubai strengthens access to markets across the Middle East and beyond via Dubai, while opening Air India's international network to flydubai customers.

Uzbekistan Airways, meanwhile, will connect flydubai passengers via Tashkent to Russian cities including Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk and Moscow; European gateways such as Frankfurt, London, Milan, Munich, Paris and Rome; and Uzbek destinations including Bukhara, Fergana and Urgench, the statement said.

Uzbekistan Airways Chairman of the Board Shukhrat Khudaykulov said the agreement opens a new chapter of cooperation between the two carriers, adding that it would expand destination choices for passengers and make international travel more convenient. He said the partnership would help strengthen Uzbekistan's position as one of Central Asia's key aviation hubs.

flydubai operates a single fleet type of 98 Boeing 737 aircraft, comprising 25 Next-Generation Boeing 737-800s, 69 Boeing 737 MAX 8s and four Boeing 737 MAX 9s, according to the airline. Since beginning operations in June 2009, it has built a network of more than 125 destinations in 56 countries and has carried more than 137 million passengers.

Interline flights via Air India and Uzbekistan Airways are available for booking through flydubai's website and app, the respective partner airlines' websites, flydubai's Contact Centre, travel shops and travel partners, the statement said. — flydubai
