Dubai-based carrier flydubai has won the âAirline with the Best Connectivity in the Middle Eastâ award for the third time at the Business Traveller Middle East Awards 2026, the airline said in a press release issued on Friday, highlighting its continued expansion and efforts to strengthen regional and international air links.
The award, presented at the 25th edition of the annual awards ceremony in Dubai, recognises the airline's role in improving connectivity from the United Arab Emirates and expanding access to previously underserved destinations.
flydubai said the recognition, which was based on votes cast by the public and readers of Business Traveller Middle East magazine, reflects the carrier's strategy of promoting trade, tourism, and travel convenience through an expanding route network.
The airline said it has focused on opening markets that previously lacked direct connections to Dubai, contributing to the emirate's status as a global aviation hub.
"We are pleased to have received the 'Airline with the Best Connectivity in the Middle East' award for the third time," said Mohammed Hareb Al-Mheiri, Chief Procurement and Technology Officer at flydubai.
"Since 2009, we have remained committed to opening up underserved markets, enhancing connectivity, and creating more free flows of trade and tourism across our network from our home in Dubai," he said.
AlMheiri added that the airline's customer-focused and agile approach had enabled it to expand services to more than 100 destinations that previously had no direct air links with Dubai.
The carrier has recently added new destinations and announced additional route expansions as part of its growth plans. It launched three weekly flights to Benghazi, Libya, on June 17 and is set to begin daily services to Bangkok, Thailand, from July 1, followed by flights to Pokhara, Nepal, from September 23.
flydubai is also operating an expanded seasonal summer schedule between June and September, serving holiday destinations including Al Alamein in Egypt, Antalya in Turkey, Batumi in Georgia, Dubrovnik in Croatia, Mykonos and Santorini in Greece, Olbia in Italy, and Trabzon in Turkey.
The airline currently operates a fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft and serves more than 100 destinations, while its overall network has grown to over 140 destinations since its launch in 2009.
