The US Embassy in Dhaka has extended the application deadline for the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program to Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 11:59 pm.
In a notice posted on its official Facebook page on Friday, the embassy invited qualified candidates to apply for research and teaching opportunities at leading US universities.
According to the notice, the program offers postdoctoral research opportunities and placements lasting either one academic semester or a full academic year. Successful applicants will join 800 scholars from around the world. A PhD or terminal degree is required.
The 2026-2027 Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program allows scholars to conduct postdoctoral research or teach at US institutions. Selected scholars will receive a six-to-nine-month research or lecturing grant, beginning in September 2027.
Experienced Bangladeshi professionals, university faculty members, and researchers at think tanks and relevant government and non-government organisations are invited to apply. Applicants must have at least 10 years of professional experience.
Candidates must have excellent English language skills to work professionally in a US university setting. Preference will be given to those who show a clear intent to use the experience to advance US-Bangladesh relations.
