GDRFA Dubai to showcase smart border, visa services at Arabian travel market

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) will take part in Arabian Travel Market 2026, running from September 14 to 17 at Dubai World Trade Centre, where it plans to showcase a range of services aimed at easing traveller mobility to and through the emirate, state news agency WAM reported.

Among the offerings on display is the Red Carpet service, which uses biometric verification to identify passengers and process passport control without requiring travel documents to be presented at each step, an approach the agency describes as an advanced model for smart border control.

GDRFA Dubai will also present its five-year multiple-entry tourist visa, which allows travellers to enter the UAE repeatedly without a sponsor or host, as well as a 60-day entry visa available to nationals of certain countries residing abroad.

Major General Talal Ahmed Al Shanqaiti, Assistant Director-General for Airports at GDRFA Dubai, said the directorate's participation was an opportunity to introduce the travel and tourism industry to solutions developed to ease each stage of the visitor journey. He said the agency continues to develop faster, more flexible services "tailored to travellers' needs," reflecting Dubai's ambition to offer a seamless and integrated travel experience.

The GDRFA Dubai stand will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the duration of the exhibition.
