ICAO begins first-ever security audit at Ctg airport

A four-member team from the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) arrived in Chattogram on Sunday to conduct the first-ever security audit at Shah Amanat International Airport.

The team landed at 3:10 pm on Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-615, airport director Group Captain Md Nur Hossain said in a press release.

The four-day audit will run from November 1 to 4 under ICAO’s Universal Security Audit Programme - Continuous Monitoring Approach (USAP-CMA).

The team comprises Callum Vine, Alessandra Johanna Arenas, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Ab Sukor and PA Jayakantha.

Airport authorities said it was the first time a security audit of this kind was being held at Shah Amanat under ICAO supervision. They said further details would be provided later.
