The Public Authority for Civil Aviation on Thursday dismissed circulating claims about the resumption of flights at Kuwait International Airport, confirming that no official approvals have been issued and the airport remains closed.
The authority's spokesperson, Abdullah Al-Rajhi, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that a social media post, attributed to an airline, falsely reported the restart of flights. He emphasized that the information is incorrect, urging the public to rely on official sources and avoid unverified online reports.
Al-Rajhi reaffirmed the authorityâs commitment to transparency, noting that updates regarding airport operations will be communicated through official channels. The authority had announced on February 28 the temporary closure of Kuwaiti airspace to aircraft and passengers, citing regional political and security developments. The measure was implemented as a precaution to safeguard passengers, airlines, and airport operations from potential risks.
In a related development, Saleh Al-Omar, Deputy Director General of Customs for Ports, Research, and Customs Investigation Affairs, conducted an inspection tour of all facilities within the Air Cargo Department on Thursday. In a press statement, Al-Omar highlighted Customsâ commitment to on-site monitoring and evaluating operations across all sectors.
He stressed the need to address challenges and enhance coordination between customs departments and relevant government agencies to streamline procedures and expedite transactions. The inspection tour forms part of the departmentâs plan to strengthen customs control and improve overall performance, emphasizing adherence to regulations and the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency.
