The Lufthansa Group has extended the suspension of flights to and from Dubai through October 24, even as it begins restoring some other Middle East routes, according to a report by Gulf News citing the group's latest update issued September 1.

Lufthansa, SWISS and Eurowings will keep their Dubai services suspended through October 24 for operational reasons, Gulf News reported. Eurowings is currently the only one of the three carriers with a confirmed return date for the route, planning to resume Dubai flights from November 1.

The suspension also extends to Abu Dhabi, where Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, SWISS and Edelweiss have paused services through October 24. Eurowings' Abu Dhabi flights remain suspended for the same period, with no return date yet announced, according to the report.

Other Middle East routes affected include Beirut, Dammam and Muscat, suspended through October 24, while flights to Erbil and Tehran remain halted through October 31, Gulf News reported.

Despite the continued UAE suspensions, the group is resuming some regional services. Lufthansa will restart its Frankfurt–Riyadh route on September 10, initially operating three times a week, according to the report. The airline also plans to resume daily Frankfurt–Amman flights from October 25, while Austrian Airlines will restart Vienna–Amman services three times weekly from October 2.

The Lufthansa Group said it continues to monitor the security situation in the Middle East and remains in close contact with authorities, warning that further changes remain possible given the "dynamic situation," Gulf News reported.

Passengers travelling to or from the UAE are advised to check individual flight status before travelling, as the group continues to restore some Middle East services while suspensions remain in place on others.
