Malaysia Airlines has been named Worldâs Best MICE Airline and Asiaâs Best MICE Airline at the 2026 World MICE Awards, its first wins in both categories, according to a press release from Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) issued on October 15.
MICE stands for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions. The awards were presented at the World MICE Awards gala at Princess Grand Jamaica on October 12, MAG said. They recognise the airlineâs role in serving the international MICE segment.
MAG said the recognition reinforces the airlineâs position as a trusted partner to the travel trade. It also gives the airline a platform to deepen collaboration across the business events and corporate travel sectors.
Bryan Foong, Chief Executive Officer of Airline Business at MAG, called the recognition âan important milestone for Malaysia Airlinesâ. He said the airline would build on it by improving its offering and strengthening relationships with travel trade partners. He added that the airlineâs progress depends on teams across the group working together to deliver reliable and seamless travel grounded in what he called authentic Malaysian hospitality.
MAG listed other recent recognitions for the group and the airline. These include the Prestige Recognition for Top CX Performance for MAGâs Global Contact Centre at the Contact Centre Association of Malaysia Industry Excellence Awards 2026. The airline also won the Grand Prize in the Airline Category at The Best Brand Chosen by Consumers 2026, organised by JoongAng Ilbo in South Korea, and Outstanding Airline Brand of the Year at the Business Focus Awards 2026 in Hong Kong. MAG also pointed to its recent recognition at the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards, without providing details.
On operations, the airline recorded an average year-to-date on-time performance (OTP) of 91.70 per cent, MAG said. It reached a high of 94.16 per cent in September 2026.
MAG said these developments support its Long-Term Business Plan 3.0 (LTBP3.0), which sets an ambition for Malaysia Airlines to rank among the worldâs top 10 airlines by 2030. It said it plans continued investment in products, fleet, network, operations and customer experience to build a more competitive airline and sustainable long-term growth.
